1 lb cod fillets (or grouper)
flour
vegetable oil
Batter:
2 cups Schlafly Hefeweizen
1½ cups flour
½ cup cornstarch
1 tbsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
¼ tsp pepper
For tartar sauce:
1 cup mayonnaise
1 hard cooked egg, chopped
¼ cup thinly sliced green onions
¼ cup chopped dill pickle
1 tsp dijon style mustard
1 clove garlic, minced

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all tartar sauce ingredients together in small bowl. Cover and chill.
Rinse fish and pat dry. Cut into serving size pieces. In large bowl, whisk together all batter ingredients. Heat oil in deep fat fryer to 375º . Dredge fish in flour, then dip in batter to coat. Cook several pieces at a time in hot oil for 2-3 min or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels
