1 8 oz package medium egg noodles
1 lb. ground beef
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
2 tbsp catsup
1 tsp salt
½ tsp garlic salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup sour cream
½ cup chopped green onions
¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cook noodles according to package directions; rinse and drain. Cook meat in skillet over moderate heat until done. Add tomato sauce, catsup, salt, garlic salt and pepper. Cover and simmer over low for 5 min. Heat oven to 350º. Combine noodles, cottage cheese, sour cream and onions. Spoon half of mixture into a 2½ qt. casserole dish. Cover with half of meat mixture. Repeat layers. Sprinkle shredded cheese over top. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until mixture is heated and cheese is melted.

We "dubbed" this recipe Grandmamma's Casserole because we first had it at our grandparent's house in Newport News. We liked it so much, we made it during our growing-up years and several of us continued to make it after we were married.
