1 3/4 c gf flour
3/4 tsp xanthan gum, if not included in flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 cream of tarter
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
ginger
cloves
cinnamon
3/4 c brown sugar or coconut sugar and a Tbsp molasses
4 Tbsp butter melted and cooled
2 extra large eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 c applesauce or pumpkin
1 c confectioners' sugar
2-4 tsp milk or buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Warm a doughnut maker or preheat oven 350º and grease a muffin tin.
Whisk dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add each of the rest of ingredients, beating after each addition.
Fill the bottom of the doughnut wells. Close. Bake for 3 minutes. Transfer to wire rack, and repeat.
Optional Glaze:
In a small bowl, place sugar and 2 tsp milk. Add milk by 1/2 tsp until smooth and pourable.
Working quickly, dip the top of each slightly cooled doughnut in the glaze. Turn back & forth a bit to coat well, turn glaze side up and dry on parchment paper.
