1 c. butter softened
c. sugar
c. packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (12 oz.pkg.)

Optional: 1 c. chopped nuts

In a large mixer bowl, cream butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and beat well.

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt and gradually add to the creamed mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips and optional nuts.

Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased (or parchment paper lined) cookie sheet.

Bake 375 8-10 min. or until lightly browned. Cool 5 min. and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Bar or pan option:Spread batter in greased pan. Bake 350 25-30 min.
