Directions:Put all noodle ingredients except water in a bowl and beat until smooth, shiny and it makes blisters when stirred. Add the 7/8 cups of water gradually until it has the right consistency (thick and gooey like putty). Do not use all the water unless necessary. About 30 minutes before meat is ready, start to heat water to a boil. Put noodle mix into Spetzla maker and drop noodles into boiling water. When noodles come to top, they are finished. Scoop noodles off top into covered pot. |

Notes: This recipe comes from Jim's grandparents. The grandmother was named Maria Dreher and the grandfather was August Dreher. Jim August Dreher's parents are Jim Sr. and Mary Ann. I knew grandpa Dreher and made Spetzla with him several times. He came from Germany when he was 17 years old. He owned a company that made orthotics. When he died he had about 3 million dollars. Jim has a trust fund from him. I liked him very much. Your dad met him many times. He owned an orchard in Florida as well. This is an authentic German recipe. Mary Ann Dreher made this every Christmas with beef.
