1 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Cup Shortening
¼ Teaspoon Salt
3 Cups Sifted All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

Directions:
In large mixing bowl beat the sugar, brown sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla until well mixed. Stir in peanut butter. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Beat until well blended. Shape into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Using the tines of the fork dipped in additional sugar, flatten balls pressing fork in 2 different directions. Bake at 350º for 9-11 minutes or until done. Remove from cookie sheet and let cool on wire rack.

Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
