3/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 1/4 cup flour
1 t cloves
1 1/2 t soda
1/2 t nutmeg
1 1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t salt
1 1/2 cup warm, sweet applesauce
1 cup nuts
1 cup raisins

Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs.

Combine flour, cloves, soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.

Add first mixture alternately with applesauce.

Add in nuts and raisins.

Cook 45 min at 350º
1 hour for fruit cake
