1 sm. can evaporated milk
1 c. sugar
1 stick butt4er
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Mix in a saucepan. Cook over low heat stirring constantly. Icing will thicken as it cooks.

This icing was used mostly on a yellow cake but I have used it on a chocolate cake and it was wonderful. I have not found any variation of "Butter Icing" online so I can truly say this is an "Edwards" recipe passed down through the generations...Bev
