1½-2 pounds of stew meat
Salt and Pepper
2 tbsp. oil
8 cups cold water
1 tbsp. Italian seasoning
3 tbsp. dried parsley
1 tsp garlic powder
2 cans beef broth
1 tbsp. seasoned salt
2 bay leaves
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp celery salt
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1½ cups chopped onion
1 28 oz can diced tomatoes
1 cup frozen green beans
1 cup frozen corn
1 cup frozen black eyed peas
1 cup frozen butter beans
1 cup frozen okra
1 cup diced potatoes
½ cup uncooked elbow macaroni

Heat oil and brown stew meat, season meat with salt and pepper. Add water, seasonings, onion and tomatoes. Cover the pot, reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours. Add the remaining vegetables and macaroni, heat to a boil, reduce heat and simmer another 45 minutes.

This is my recipe adapted from a Paula Deen recipe. It is like gumbo, you need a long afternoon to let it cook and simmer. Great with a pan of cornbread on a cold night. You can also easily half the recipe, it makes a large pot of soup.
