1 cup quick oats
⅔ cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup lard
2 eggs
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp salt
1 ⅓ cup flour

Icing:
¼ cup canned milk
½ stick butter
¾ cup brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Pour 1 ¼ cup boiling water over quick oats and let stand 10 minutes.
Cream sugar, brown sugar, and lard.
Mix eggs with oats and add to creamed mixture.
Add soda, cinnamon, salt, and flour.
Bake in small oblong loaf pan at 350º for 30-35 minutes.


Icing:
Mix milk, butter, and brown sugar. Cook for 3 minutes at boiling point.
Spread on cake and set under broiler to brown.
