1 lb lean beef or lamb
½ c fine-grade bulgur
1 small onion, minced
½ t crushed dried leaf mint
½ t ground allspice
salt and freshly-ground pepper to taste

2 T pine nuts

2 T butter or margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Combine meat, bulgur, onion, mint, allspice, salt, and pepper in food processor. Process until doughy.
Preheat over to 350º. Grease an 8 in square baking pan or a 9 in round cake pan.
Pat ½ of the meat mixture into pan. Moisten hands and pat surface smooth. Sprinkle with the pine nuts.
Cover with remaining meat mixture. Pat smooth. Cut into 1½ in squares or diamond-shapes.
Brush with butter or margarine.
If you want, you can decorate the top with additional pine nuts.
Bake 30-35 minutes in a 350º oven, or until firm and well-browned.
Serve Kibbe from pan or invert on a tray or platter.

Mom couldn't find her old recipe for Kibbe (from Toofie), which Hilda took as a challenge and located this one. with the exception of using a food processor, Mom thought it was pretty similar, if not the same one.
