Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

5 cups flour
2½ tsp. salt
⅔ shortening or margarine
5 tsp. baking powder
2 T. sugar

2 tsp. yeast
¼ cup very warm water
2 cups buttermilk (2 cups milk + 2 T. vinegar)

Filling:
¼ cup butter melted
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 T. cinnamon

Glaze:
1½ c powdered sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 3-4 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine, flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Cut shortening into flour mixture.

Dissove yeast in water and then add warmed buttermilk.

Combine flour mixture with liquid. Knead on lightly foured surface fo about 5 minutes. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours. (I leave overnight and roll out in morning.)

Roll into large rectangle (18x12-inch).

Spread cinnamon/sugar mixture on top. Roll from long end into a log. Slice into 1 inch rolls and place in 9x13 pan. Bake at 375º for 15-20 minutes.

Spread or drizzle glaze on top of warm cinnamon rolls.
