¾ cup sugar

¾ cup butter

1 egg

1 ½ tsp. vanilla

1 ¾ cups flour

⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa

¼ tsp. baking powder

¼ tsp. baking soda

⅛ tsp. salt

Maraschino Cherries (save juice)
Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°.
In large mixer combine sugar & butter, beat at medium speed scraping bowl often until mixed well (1-2 min.).
Add egg & vanilla; continue beating until well mixed (1-2 min.).
Add remaining ingredients (except cherries).
Beat on a low speed, mix well (2-3 min.).

Shape into 1” balls place cherry in center (roll dough around it). Cook 1” apart for 10-15 or until set. Let cool then frost.

FROSTING:

1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
2 tbs. cherry juice

Add chocolate chips & cherry juice & melt, stirring occasionally to smooth out.
