12 hard boiled eggs
1 1/2 white vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 t. salt
6 whole cloves
1 bay leaf
1 onion, sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Peel eggs and place in narrow, deep jar. Bring vinegar, water, sugar, salt, closed and bay leaf to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
Pour over eggs, making sure eggs are completely covered with the liquid.
Place onion slices on top of eggs. Cover tightly and refrigerate for several days.

Eggs may be served whole, halved or sliced, plain or in sandwiches or salads.
