1 c. soft shortening
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 TBSP melted butter
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp vanilla
4 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 c. broken pecans
1 jar marschino cherries
2 c. dates or craisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs, & melted butter. Slowly stir in milk & vanilla. Slowly add in dry ingredients. Mix well. Add pecans, cherries & dates with mixer.

Drop by spoonful 2" apart onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake @ 350ºfor 12 minutes or slightly brown
