1/4 c melted shortening
1/4 c melted margarine spread
1/2 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/8 c flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
optional toppings: colored sugar, cinnamon sugar, sprinkles, candy etc

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and then stir in. Mold rounded teaspoon-sized balls and dip in toppings. Placed 2 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Cool slightly and remove to cool. Cookies should be delicately brown and soft.
