1 pan cornbread or leftover cornbread
6 green onions, chopped
1 small yellow onion, chopped
½ stick butter
poultry seasoning
salt
pepper

--adjust onion and butter according to the amount of cornbread you start with.

--Melt butter in frying pan and saute onions

--Add coarsely crumbled cornbread to pan and add salt, pepper and poultry seasoning to taste

--Cook until warmed through, if mixture is too dry add more butter

--From Jane: As a child, I remember this being served around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Although I didn't realize it then, I now think it was a way to get rid of extra cornbread that was made for the dressing. I have introduced Hishi Hashi to a lot of people over the years and have not found a single person who disliked it. It goes with everything.
