2 lbs stew meat
8 cups boiling water
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 large onion sliced
4 bay leaves
2 T salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cloves
2 tsp sugar
1 lb carrots or more? Preference
6 to 8 potatoes or more? Preference

Thoroughly brown meat on all sides in hot fat. Drain fat. Return meat to large dutch oven add the boiling water, lemon juice, worcestshire sauce, onion, garlic, bay leaves and seasonings. Simmer at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally to keep it from sticking.

Prep and slice carrots 1/2 to 1 inch thick. Clean and cube the potatoes. Add the carrots and potatoes to the meat and cook another hour until the vegetables are done. Remove the meat and vegetables, use flour to thicken the liquid for gravy.
