1½ Cups cake flour
1 Teaspoon baking powder
½ Teaspoon salt
4 Tablespoons shortening
1 Cup sugar
2 Whole eggs
½ Pint think sour cream (buy XX cream and let sour in refrigerator)
1 Teaspoon baking soda
1 Teaspoon vanilla

Icing: I use regular package of white fluffy icing and follow directions on package.

Cream sugar and shortening together. Add eggs & sour cream. Mix together flour, baking powder, salt & baking soda. Add this to the creamed mixture. Blend & stir in vanilla. (Batter is thick) Bake In 2 greased 9 inch layer pans or one oblong pan 8X12 at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes.
