1 quart (4-5 cups) flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 heaping serving spoon of lard or shortening
1 teaspoon baking soda
buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
--Sift baking soda, salt and flour together

--Cut in lard or shortening until pieces are the size of a pea using pastry cutter or 2 knives.

--Add enough buttermilk to make dough as soft as can be handled (but handle as little as possible).

--Form biscuits and place on tray.

--Bake at 450ºF 10 minutes.
