"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
My Aunt Ellen gave us this recipe and Bonnie and I would make them often, They are really good so I suggest if you are going to make them, why not double the batch. When you are all done make sure you pull a few out and find a good hiding place. I have become a master over the years! Unfortunatley some of my children and grandchildren have become masters at finding my stash!
