Ingredients: ½ c. c. butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 c. flour 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda ½ tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla

Directions: |
Directions:Cream 1/2 c butter and 1 c sugar Add 2 eggs, beat well Sift 2 c flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp salt Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Mix well. Add 1 tsp vanilla Pour half of batter into greased tube pan. Sprinkle with half of nut mixture. Cover with remaining batter and nut mixture. Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes.
Can also bake in 9 x 9" pan. |

Notes: First recipe of Gramma Dode's that Peg made! Was the centerpiece of our Christmas breakfast table in the early years. Katherine loves this cake, which she calls "Milk Cake" because she drinks it with milk not coffee! She was making it on her own (but supervised) when she was 9.
