1 cup sugar
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbs. olive or canola oil
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
4 tsp. grated orange zest
3/4 cup orange juice
1 cup nuts or raisins or chocolate chips

Pre-heat oven to 350F.

Grease and flour a loaf pan.

Combine all ingredients and stir until well combined.

Bake for 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

When I was a little girl I remember my mom making an orange loaf (I think it was a recipe on the Bisquick box). I still remember bending over the top of it as it was cooling to smell the wonderful orange aroma. I've tried to duplicate that loaf, and this one comes very close. I love it with chocolate chips.
