4 cups Flour
2 cups Granulated White Sugar
¼ cup Crisco Shortening
2 Eggs
2 tsp Baking Powder
Cinnamon
4 tbsp Cocoa
Lemon peel, grated
½ - 1 cup Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cocoa.
In a separate bowl, mix shortening, sugar, eggs and lemon peel.
Fold into dry ingredients and then add milk slowly, a bit at a time until the batter is medium-hard.

Roll into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in the oven at 375ºF for 15 minutes

This is a recipe from Nonna's church friend Ida Morra - she was a wonderful cook and baker! We loved going to her home for get together's.

P.S. I had a crush on her son Joe - he made me a plastic heart keychain when he was in highschool in his shop class, lol!
