Ingredients:

1/2 cup Sifted Flour
1 1/2 cups Yellow Corn Meal
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tbsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
1 whole onion (small and finely chopped)
1 whole egg (beaten)
3/4 cups milk
2 cups oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients
Add onion (other choices; green chilies, jalapeno , shrimp)
Add egg and milk and stir lightly
Heat oil to a medium heat
Drop about 1 tbsp of batter in at a time. Flip when one side becomes golden brown, and continue to cook until brown. (See Note Below)
Drain hush puppies on paper towel.

Makes about 20.

NOTE: Make sure oil is not too hot so your hush puppies can cook all the way through before the outside becomes too crispy.
