7-8 large Idaho potatoes peeled
and thinly sliced
1 large onion thinly sliced
1 pkg cubed ham or leftover ham
1 stick butter
6 tbsp flour
1 ⅔ cups milk
1½ tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
½ paprika
6 American cheese slices
1 pkg grated cheddar cheese

Directions:
Saute onions in 2 tbsp butter until transparent. Grease a 9x13 casserole dish. Preheat over to 350º. In casserole dish place a layer of potatoes on the bottom and then half of the onions. Scatter a layer of cubed ham. Sprinkle 3 tbsp of flour over layer. Place 4-5 tabs of butter over layer. Cover layer with the 6 American cheese slices. Repeat with another layer except this top layer will NOT have the cheese slices. In a container mix milk and all seasonings and then pour over casserole. . Cover and bake for 30 minutes at 350º. Then uncover and cook another 1 hour. Add a layer of grated cheddar cheese the last 15 minutes.
