4 pigs feet
1 qt vinegar
1 T whole cloves
4 bay leaves
1 stick cinnamon
1/4 c salt
2 tsp pepper
1 small onion, sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Scrub the feet thoroughly. Cover with boiling water, Simmer until the meat begins to fall from the bones. Drain and save water. Place in an earthenware or granite container, Combine vinegar, cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon, salt, pepper and onion, and simmer. Add one pint to one quart of the water in which the feet were cooked. Strain to remove spices. Pour over pigs feet. Chill.

Living through the 1930s made folks quite frugal. When a hog was butchered, they used every part except the squeal.
