1 can tart cherries
1c. sugar
2tbs. flour and a little salt
Drain cherries. Add sugar to flour, mix in juice, set aside

Crust:
1c sifted flour 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/3 c. shortening(Crisco)
1/6 c. cold milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Sift dry ingredients together; cut in shortening with two table knives or a pastry blender
Cut in milk. Form into a ball. Use 2/3 dough for lower crust. Fit into 8 inch pie pan. Roll out remainder of dough and cut into strips for lattice topping.

Put cherries w/o juice into pie shell then place strips of dough on top on a criss-cross pattern. Mix juice well then pour over cherries evenly.

Bake pie at 450 degrees for 10- 15 min. Reduce heat to 375degrees and cook for 45 min. more.
