Be careful in your selection of fruit. Do not choose too young and take only varieties that has been grown in productive soil. When once picked and decided upon, let this part remain forever unchanged and give your entire thought to the correct preparation for domestic value. Some insist on keeping them in pickle, while others constantly continue to get into hot water. Even poor varieties may be made tender and good by garnishing them with patience and well sweetened with smiles, and flavored with kisses to taste. After this, wrapped them well in the mantle of charity, keep warm with steady fire of devotion, and served with peaches and cream. When best preserved husbands will keep for years!
