8 cups of bread cubes ( 14 slices dry bread)
1 cup mashed potatoes
1/2 cup butter
1/2 chopped onions
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. sage (Ground)
1 cup of water or turkey broth
Turkey

Directions:
Directions:
Put bread cubes and potatoes into a large pan and set aside.

Melt 1/2 cup butter in saucepan. Add in 1/2 cup onions stirring for 2 mins. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp. of ground sage, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/8 tsp. pepper.

Pour mixture over the bread cubes and potato mix. Drizzle with broth or water to moisten and toss lightly.

Will make enough for a 8-10 lb bird. Double if needed.

If stuffing turkey with dressing:

Line cavity with cheese cloth leaving a generous amount outside to be tucked in after dressing has been added. Then add dressing loosely as it swells during cooking. Brush turkey with butter, cover with foil dull side up. Tuck foil under each side of bird but leave loose at sides.

Roast Turkey at 325ºF.

Taking stuffing out:

Cheesecloth and dressing can be removed like a sac without leaving behind any stuffing. From what dressing you have left you can bake in a greased and covered casserole dish for 30 mins at 325ºF.

Timing for roasting the turkey:
2- 4 kgs or 5- 8 lbs= 3 1/4 hours
4- 5 kgs or 8- 10 lbs= 4- 4 1/4 hours

*if using a light , shiny pan increase cook time by 1 hour.

Turkey can be saved and frozen for up to 3-6 weeks. Dressing can be frozen and kept for up to 2- 3 weeks.
