2 c canned chick peas, rinsed (garbanzo beans)
2 cloves garlic (can be roasted- 425º, 30-40 min, roast a lot- can be kept in fridge for weeks)
1 tsp cumin
1/3 c tahini (sesame paste)
2 lemons, freshly squeezed (about 6 T lemon juice)
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
2 T water
Dash of paprika (optional)

Garnish:
toasted pine nuts
coarsely chopped parsley
drizzle of olive oil

Directions:

1. Place all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a steel blade and process until the hummus is coarsely pureed.
2. Taste for seasoning, garnish, and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Will last 1 week in refrigerator.
Can add beets for sweetness.
