1/4 cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 tbsp hot water

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp soda

1 tsp cinnamon

1 scant tsp nutmeg

1 cup flour

1 egg

2 1/2 cups cut up rhubarb

1/2 cup chopped walnuts


CARMEL SAUCE:

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp flour

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
mix all together.

the batter is very thick.

use a greased pie pan or double recipe for a 9 x 13 pan.


for carmel sauce:

mix together and boil until thick. (can do in microwave)
makes plenty even if you make a 9 x 13 cake.

spoon on to each servin of cake. the cake is very very moist.
