1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp. scant baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
In a large saucepan, combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and buttermilk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add baking soda and stir until foamy. You may want to place the pot over the sink in case the syrup bubbles over the saucepan.

Syrup is wonderful on pancakes and waffles or as an ice cream topping.
