13/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 vanilla bean (or extract to equal)
12 Tbs unsalted butter melted
2 eggs lightly beaten
1 cup milk
Finely ground zest of 1 lemon

Directions:

Have all ingredients at room temperature

Position rack on lower third of oven to allow bread to rise. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour your bread pan.

Whisk together dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ingredients in another, then fold in the dry ingredients not over beating.

Bake and then when still warm but slightly cooled to touch top with glaze.

3 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice

Directions:

Place sugar and lemon juice into a small sauce pan and heat until sugar has melted.

Allow bread to cool completely before serving.
