1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cups raisins
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup nuts
3 cups flour
1 tsp soda
Directions:
Directions:
Add raisins to boiling water simmer 10 minutes. Cool add shortening and sugar and mix well. Add rest of ingredients including raisins mixture. Drop bits of soft dough and flatten on a greased baking dish or a cookie sheet.

Bake at 375º for 10 minutes
