Sage to taste
1 stewing chicken, cut up
2 tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1½ cup sifted all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
poultry seasoning
French seasoning
4 T shortening
¾ cups milk

Directions:
Directions:
Place cut chicken in large utensil; add salt and pepper and cover with water. Put lid on pot and simmer gently until tender. Sift together flour, baking powder, poultry seasoning and French seasoning. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles corn meal. Add milk and stir only enough to mix well. Drop by tablespoons onto stewed chicken in boiling broth. Cook 10 minutes with the utensil covered and 10 minutes uncovered
