1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced celery
2 cups diced potatoes (not as finely diced as the other)
2 cans of minced clams (7 or 8 oz)
3/4 cup butter (the real butter)
3/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 sq half and half
Pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Put the vegetables in a sauce pan. Drain the juice from the clams on them and cover with water to barley cover. Cook over medium heat until barely tender (don't overcook)
In the meantime melt the butter in a big saucepan, add the flour and blend until smooth and creamy. Slowly add the half and half nd use wire whip to keep smooth. As it thickens add the vegetables clams, salt and pepper.
