1 t. minced garlic
1 c. heavy cream
⅓ c. milk
1 t. salt
⅛ t. ground black pepper
About 4 medium-size russet potatoes, peeled & sliced thinly
1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
¼ c. shredded Parmesan cheese

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 350º. Butter a 2-quart shallow baking dish. Heat cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper until hot but DO NOT BOIL. Remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes. Combine cheeses. Arrange half of the potatoes in overlapping slices in the bottom of the prepared dish. ** Pour half the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with half the cheeses. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses. Bake 60 - 70 minutes, uncovered, until top is a deep brown and potatoes are tender when pierced with a knife.
