Cherry soup Recipe

4 cups fresh frozen or canned tart pitted cherries
2 cups water
1/4 to 11/4 cups sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Dash of salt
1 cup milk

In a 3qt saucepan,place cherries, water, sugar and cinnamon.
Bring to a boil cooking until cherries are tender about 10-15 minutes
Adjust sugar if necessary depending on the tartness of cherries
For dumplings
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
Stir in milk
Drop by teaspoonful,into boiling soup.
Cook covered 10-15 minutes or until dumplings are fluffy
Don't open the lid at all until time is up or u will have soggy dumplings.
