1½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup butter
¾ cup milk
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup chopped walnuts
4 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Cream butter and sugar.
Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to butter and sugar.
Add nuts.

In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until they form soft peaks.
Fold into batter.

Pour batter into a (greased and floured) 10" fluted tube pan.
Bake for 1 hour.
