Ingredients: 1 (8 oz.) tube crescent roll dough sheet 4 oz. cream cheese at room temperature 1 tbsp. sugar ½ tsp. lemon zest ½ (15.75 oz.) can lemon pie filling or -½ (12 oz.) jar lemon curd 1 egg, beaten

Directions: |
Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375º. 2. Line large baking sheet with foil, coat with cooking spray. 3. Unroll dough in one piece onto pan. 4. Press dough into a 12x8 inch rectangle. 5. Mix cheese, sugar and zest until smooth. 6. Spread mixture in 4 inch wide strip down center of dough, leaving 2 inch border on long sides and 1inch border on short sides. 7. Spread lemon filling over cheese mixture. 8. Fold short sides of dough over filling. Cut each long side of dough on diagonal in 1 inch intervals to within 1 inch of filling 9. Take a cut strip of dough from each side and fold over filling, twisting ends together to form a knot in center. Brush dough with egg. 10. Bake until golden about 15-20 minutes. 11. Cool in pan on rack. |

Ingredients: 1 pkg. Pillsbury Crescent Rolls or dough sheets 1 tbsp. butter, melted sugar cinnamon

Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375º. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. On a piece of waxed paper unroll sheet of dough. Close any seams. 3. Melt butter and spread with pastry brush on sheet of dough. 4. Gradually sprinkle sugar over butter. 5. Sprinkle cinnamon over sugar. 6. Roll up sheet of dough and cut into 12-13 pieces. 7. Place on baking sheet. 8. Brush top of each piece with melted butter. 9. Bake about 12 minutes. Remove from oven. 10. Glaze with confectioners' sugar icing.

Notes: Crescent rolls make great recipes. The lemon curd, the sweetened cream cheese and the Crescent Roll dough make the Lemon Danish a special breakfast treat. Our niece Kathy gave us this simple recipe for Cinnamon Rolls. The recipe is easy and quick. When we were on a Caribbean Cruise to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2016 with John, Dawn and family, JJ would bring cinnamon buns from the breakfast buffet for Grandpa every morning.
