1 c shortening
2 ½ c sugar
4 eggs
1-quart buttermilk
4 c Kellogs All-Bran
2 c boiling water
5 c flour
5 tsp soda
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
400º
Cream shortening and sugar.
In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients.
Add eggs to buttermilk to shortening and sugar.
Pour boiling water over bran.
Add bran to sifted dry ingredients and first mixture.
Walnuts, raisins, dates, or cranberries may be added now or later.
Keep in the fridge and use as needed. Will keep 2 months.

Bake 400º for 15-20 min.
