1 tablespoon vinegar
5 ½ cups flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 pound lard or shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg in a measuring cup. Fill cup to the ¾ cup mark with water. Add vinegar; set aside.

Mix flour, salt, baking powder, and brown sugar in a large bowl. Rub lard into the flour mixture until the resembles coarse meal. Add liquid all at once and work until smooth. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Allow dough to “warm up” before rolling it out.
