1 cup dark brown sugar
½ cup heavy whipping cream
4 tbsps. butter
pinch salt (optional - for salted caramel)
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium saucepan mix together sugar, heavy whipping cream butter and salt and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low and let simmer for 2 minutes whisking occasionally. Remove saucepan from heat and add vanilla and stir. Let the mixture cool in pan for 2 minutes then pour into a jar. Let to cool to room temperature and refrigerate until ready to use up to 5 days.
