˝ pound green split peas
1 small onion
12 cups water
4 stalks celery
4 carrots
1 parsnip
Salt and pepper to taste
Ham bone

Directions:
Directions:
Wash peas. Add to a pot the peas, water, salt, pepper, and ham bone. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add chopped vegetables to soup. Simmer for 10 minutes.
 

Dough (Csipetke)

1 egg
1 tablespoon water
Dash of salt and pepper
1 cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
While soup cooks, mix dough ingredients until stiff. Pinch off a pea-sized bit of dough. Rub the bit of dough between your fingers, forming an oval “csipetke.” Add the csipetke to the soup and simmer for 30 minutes.
