½ stick butter
2 (5 oz.) cans buttered mushrooms
1 (46 oz.) can tomato juice
2 lbs. ground beef
3 (16 oz.) cans peeled tomatoes
4 (16 oz.) cans chili beans
2 (5 oz.) sliced pimentos
2 bunches fresh green onions (chopped)
1 clove garlic, minced
2 lg. tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. pepper

Brown ground beef in butter. Add onion and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. Mix in remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, over low heat for 4-6 hours. Makes 6 quarts.
