Directions:
Spray a large oven proof casserole dish with cover (or use foil) with cooking spray. Slice cleaned and peeled potatoes, filling dish half full. Salt and pepper. Layer butter slices, cheese slices, and sprinkle with flour. Fill almost to top of potatoes with milk.
Continue to fill rest of pot with sliced potatoes, layering with the same four ingredients. Salt and pepper. May cover with cracker crumbs. Place cover over dish and bake for 1½ to 2 hours at 350º. Warning: It may bubble over the edges of the bowl as it bakes. You may want to place dish on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper or foil before baking.

Note: My Mother, LaVeta Lewis use to make this fairly often for us kids. She used Cheddar Cheese instead of American Cheese. We loved it per Evelyn.
