"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
fresh picked figs
sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Wash figs and remove stems. Use 1 pint (2 cups) sugar to 1 quart figs. I use a quart jar to measure: 2 quarts figs to 1 quart sugar. Cover figs with sugar and let stand until sugar is melted. Cook on low heat until sugar is liquified. Then cook on medium heat until figs swivel and juice is syrupy. Pack in hot sterilized jars. Tighten lids and put in hot water bath that covers lids by at least 1 inch. Bring to a full boil for 10 minutes. Remove jars from bath and let cool.
