Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
1 c shortening
2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 c milk
4 1/2 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
12 crushed cardaman seeds (I use ground cardamon - just take a guess)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients as for cake. Place in greased 9x13 pan and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes until done. Cool some and then cut into 3 strips lengthwise and into 1/2" wide crosswise. Remove and place on cookie sheets. Return to oven and toast for 45 minutes at 275. Turn and toast on other side. Put butter on when eating.
