4 qts. Cucumbers, sliced thin
6 medium Onions, sliced thin
⅓ c. Salt

5 c. Sugar
1½ teas. Celery Seed
3 c. Vinegar
½ teas. Turmeric
2 tbsp. Mustard Seed

Directions:
Directions:
Wash cucumbers, slice ½ inch thick. Add sliced onions.
Sprinkle with salt.
Cover completely with crushed ice and let stand for 3 hours and drain well. DO NOT RINSE.
Mix remaining ingredients, add cucumbers and onions.
Heat until mixture comes to a boil and keep at a boil while packing in jars.
Pack cucumbers tightly into HOT jars, adding juice as you are filling the jars.
Cap with HOT lids and rings.
Set aside to cool to cool and they will seal.

I use SPECTRUM vinegar. It has a much better taste.
Don’t make too many jars ahead of time. They don’t stay crisp after about 6 months.
